A new supercar leaves the factory looking perfect. By the time it reaches its owner, it has often picked up marks along the way, and even the factory finish can be taken further.
Where new-car marks come from
Most new vehicles pick up micro scratches or other marks in transport, shipping or storage, or during the pre-delivery inspection (PDI), when the factory wax and protective film are removed. This is almost unavoidable, and it is particularly annoying for the owner of a new car.
The other limit is time. Even premium and small-series manufacturers can only spend so long on a car’s finish and final inspection. At INCUTE we can take the manufacturer’s paint to the next level and beyond: the improvement possible even on a brand-new car is considerable.
Dimpling is on every car
Every car shows some dimpling in the clear coat, even when new, as a result of how paint is sprayed in the factory. Levels 1 to 4 of our detailing improve the finish; Level 5 levels the clear coat and removes the dimpling.
A sensible plan for a new car
- Have it checked over. We recommend every new car is brought to INCUTE for inspection before the paint is exposed to daily use.
- Choose the detailing level the paint needs. Level 1 decontaminates and protects a car in good condition; Levels 2 and 3 remove defects from transport and handling.
- Protect the result. After detailing the car is ready for ceramic sealing or paint protection film.
Film from the factory?
Currently no manufacturer can deliver paint protection film ex works in top quality, so we recommend having it applied afterwards by a specialist. In 98% or more of cases the result will be better. At INCUTE the film is computer-cut, or for cars with no stored template laser-measured and cut on our plotter, and applied by us.
Does detailing affect the warranty?
No. Detailing has no influence on the manufacturer’s warranty for your car’s paint. Correct maintenance is in fact an important part of caring for paint during the warranty period and beyond.
