After decontamination or polishing, the cleaned surface of your car is smooth but unprotected. Paint sealing is the protective layer between your car’s clear coat and environmental contamination such as tree resin, rust film, tar, UV radiation and road salt. INCUTE offers three sealing levels.

Level Type Holding period Rate Workload, small / large vehicle
1 · Wax sealing Carnauba wax Up to 6 months CHF 160 per hour approx. 3 h / 5 h
2 · Nano sealing Nano/polymer Up to 12 months CHF 170 per hour approx. 4 h / 6 h
3 · Ceramic sealing Glass ceramic Up to 36 months CHF 180 per hour approx. 6 h / 10 h

Level 1: carnauba wax

Carnauba wax is a natural wax from the Brazilian carnauba palm. It forms a protective layer on which water and dirt bead off, and gives the paint a natural shine. It is recommended for all types of paint, especially classic cars and single-coat finishes. It holds up to 6 months in normal use, or up to a year for vehicles that are properly stored in an optimal climate and hardly moved. Protection against damage is low.

Level 2: nano / polymer

Nano sealing is a synthetic, mainly polymer-based product, created to give more options and more durability than natural wax. It is recommended for all modern two-coat paints, especially everyday cars and customers who want a long-lasting seal. It lasts up to 1 year in normal use, or up to 2 years for vehicles kept in an optimal climate, for example in a collection, and almost never moved.

Level 3: glass ceramic

Like nano sealing, ceramic sealants are produced at a molecular level, but the coating forms a chemical bond with the paint instead of just lying on top. It is the strongest protection of all the sealants: up to 36 months or 50,000 km, and applying several layers extends this up to 70,000 km. The windscreen is also coated with a rain-repellent layer that bonds chemically with the glass. It is the best choice for customers who want maximum protection but no PPF. It is not suitable for older coatings and generally not for single-coat finishes, and it is elaborate to remove.

What a sealant gives you

  • Long and good protection from external influences
  • Minimal maintenance and extended cleaning cycles
  • Excellent water repellency and a self-cleaning, easy-to-clean effect
  • A deep shine

The aftercare for each type of sealant influences its durability and service life. See ceramic coating and sealing for details, or compare with film in PPF, ceramic coating or wrap.

FAQ

Common questions

What does sealing do?

After decontamination or polishing, the cleaned surface of your car is smooth but unprotected. Sealing adds a protective layer between the clear coat and environmental contamination such as tree resin, rust film, tar, UV radiation and road salt.

Which sealing gives maximum protection without PPF?

Ceramic sealing, Level 3. It is the strongest protection of all the sealants and the best choice for customers who want maximum protection but no film.

Is ceramic sealing suitable for every paint?

No. It is not suitable for older coatings and generally not for single-coat finishes, and it is elaborate to remove.
