Paint protection film (PPF) is currently the most advanced way to protect paintwork and other parts of a vehicle. This guide explains what the film is, how it heals, what the warranty covers and how to look after it.<\/p>\n
PPF consists of invisible, transparent films made of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer). The optically clear and extremely resistant films are computer-cut to the vehicle parts to be protected and applied by us for a precise fit. That removes the otherwise risky cutting on the vehicle and avoids damage to the paint during installation.<\/p>\n
The film has been developed to heal surface scratches and the normal swirl marks that occur during routine washing. If a scratch penetrates through the film, it does not heal. How long healing takes depends on the depth of the scratch and the ambient temperature: fine scratches usually heal within an hour at room temperature (22 \u00b0C), and pouring hot water over the area can speed the process up. There is no limit on how often INCUTE film can heal, as long as the scratches do not penetrate it.<\/p>\n
The manufacturer provides a five-year warranty against cracking, flaking, discolouration and clouding. There is also a one-year installation warranty.<\/p>\n
A car with film applied can be washed and sealed as if the film were not there. Depending on maintenance, the film lasts for an unlimited period of time, and regular washing and waxing keeps it in top condition for years. See the sealing guide<\/a> for the options.<\/p>\n For cars that are not stored in the film software, such as a Ferrari 250 GTO, an AC Cobra, a Morgan Aero, a Ferrari F40 or a Bugatti, we produce the template ourselves. A complete laser measuring system measures even vehicles that are not yet recorded in the software, and the templates are then cut on the plotter, so no knife ever touches your paint.<\/p>\n Currently no manufacturer can deliver PPF ex works in top quality, so we recommend having it applied afterwards by a specialist.
